John Banovich is an American artist born in Butte, Montana. He is best known for his large format oil paintings of wildlife.
At the University of Montana, Banovich studied art and zoology and holds a Visual Communications degree from The Art Institute of Seattle. The artist's works are owned and/or exhibited by corporate organizations such as Tudor Investments and The American Patriot Group as well as national museums including; The Wildlife Experience museum, Hiram Blauvelt, National Cowboy Hall of Fame, the National Museum of Wildlife Art and the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.
Banovich founded the Wildscapes Foundation, supporting conservation and humanitarian causes. He is on the board of the Society of Animal Artists, and the Board of The Craighead Environmental Research Institute.
He currently resides and paints near Livingston, Montana with his wife, Amy.
